Carved Pine Trees
This relief carving was inspired by a larger pine tree carving I had created, so I was ‘warmed up’ on carving pines. Using a router to remove as much material as possible I then set out to show the detail possible with chisels and gouges. The piece of walnut I started with was quite thick and allowed me to keep this piece as one, solid board. I then used my skills in calligraphy to write and carve in the baby’s name. The baby’s room had a National Parks Theme.
