Ember Wooden Mezuzah
Order the Ember Mezuzah
As with all designs, it began on a single page of paper
If you look at the small sketch in the top left corner you can see I started with at square one… or, rectangle one. Moving right, I added some small facets looking from the front and quickly moved to a three-quarter view from the back. This design features the Hebrew letter ‘Shin’ on the front which represents a name used for God often written on kosher scrolls. (See this article for more details). The back of the mezuzah is where the klaf (scroll) is held. A prayer is written on the parchment and held in place with a piece of brass.
